Do badlands (always) control sediment yield? Evidence from a small intermittent catchment

چکیده

The objective of this paper is to analyse the production and yield fine sediment in a small mountain catchment (10 km2), characterised by patches badlands (25% area) drained intermittent streams. study area located Southern Central Pyrenees. performed at multiple temporal scales further highlight: (i) effect pulses transfer water sediment; (ii) contribution from catchment; (iii) role drainage network as source sink. Significant correlations between meteorological flow variables were found; specifically, strongest positive relations observed stream flashiness, duration period which dry suspended concentration. Results indicated that do not always control export sediments. At annual scale supply around 40% total yield. Seasonally produced can be higher than amount exported outlet, suggesting channel acts In terms production, represent 53% taking also into account agricultural fields forest areas. emphasise key on controlling transfer, direct relation character frequency magnitude such determines Sediment Delivery Ratio (SDR), depending whether sink or source.

Sediment Yield From Small Semiarid Watersheds

Small watershed sediment yield data were evaluated for eight small watersheds ranging from 35.2 to 159.5 ha within the United States Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Research Service Walnut Gulch Experimental Watershed (WGEW) in southeastern Arizona, USA. Stock pond sediment accumulation measurements covering time periods from 30 to 47 years were combined with water level records and es...

How Do Agricultural Subsectors Respond to Productivity Shocks? Evidence from a Bayesian DSGE Model in Iran

Understanding the dynamics of productivity shocks is instrumental if we are to identify the sources of economic growth. This paper, investigates dynamic effects of positives productivity shocks to agricultural subsectors during the period from 1991-2015, by disaggregating agricultural sector in Iran into four key subsectors (crops, livestock, fishing and forestry) through an estimated DSGE mode...
